Boxing Day 2012

I hope everyone enjoyed a lovely Christmas! And if you live in a country that celebrates Boxing Day, I hope you had fun shopping!

Boxing Day is a holiday when stores have crazy sales, similar to Black Friday in America. It happens on December 26th every year and takes place in many countries including Canada, which is wear I live. This year, the sales were better than ever. I bought some great pieces which I want to show you.

Covering 2012

All the apocalypse rumours and the it's-December-21st craze has made me realize that 2013 is not really far away. Magazine covers for 2012 have all been released and many publications have already begun releasing covers and editorials for 2013 issues. This is why I've decided to make a list (in no particular order) of my favourite magazine covers of 2012.

Laetitia Casta for Harper's Bazaar UK, October 2012

Julia Nobis and Black Caviar for Vogue Australia, December 2012

Sui He for i-D Magazine, Spring 2012

Kate Moss for Vogue UK, June 2012

Katrin Thormann for Harper's Bazaar Turkey, March 2012

Alexa Chung for Numéro Tokyo, October 2012

Model streetstyle #5

I just realized it's been some time since I last posted any streetstyle, so I've decided to make up for it with another model streetstyle post. This time, I tried to include outfits with pieces that work for colder days, as well as some summer outfits mixed in.

Pre-fall 2013 review: part 1

From the time of the Chanel Pre-Fall 2013 show to now, more pre-fall collections have been slowly rolling in. It seems to me that a lot of the collections I've seen so far are based around pieces that are basic, key, and versatile. I must say that most of the collections so far aren't particularly exciting, but there are definitely a few that I like.

The back view

A while ago, I posted a picture of a lovely dress from John Galliano's last collection, but taken from behind.
This got me thinking; when we look at runway photos, we're often limited to the front view. (I can attest to this as finding pictures for this post was not easy.) I do think that the back view of a dress has a beauty of its own.

Chanel in Scotland (Pre-Fall 2013)

The Pre-Fall 2013 collections are coming out now! I originally planned to do a review of all of my favourite collections in one or two big posts, but when I saw the Chanel collection, I knew I would have to dedicate it a post of its own. The Chanel Pre-Fall 2013 collection was designed with Scottish inspirations and presented at Linlithgow Palace in Scotland.

A million thoughts were going through my head as I looked through the images. The looks are amazing. The knits and gowns are to die for. Some things are a little cliché, the styling a little messy. It definitely isn't perfect, but it's so charming and dramatic and absolutely genius!

Perhaps someone Scottish might have a different perspective on this collection? Or someone with different tastes from me? I love it to pieces, but I would love to hear all of your opinions!

After taking a short hiatus from blogging, I'm now back and trying to fall back into a regular blogging schedule. I've decided that it's time for another "lusting after" post. Without further ado, here are the things I've been obsessing over lately.
